It's not just her utilitarian take on a Marni-inspired necklace, but also her work ethic, sense of humor & keen eye that we love about stylist Steph Shoemaker. Seen here on set with photographer Jill Greenberg, for the agency Taxi NY. Check out her website here: www.stephanieshoemaker.com
Production Kit: iPad Viewing Station
Challenge: Sometimes photographers need a bit more space while shooting and would like the client viewing station to be a bit further away, or there might be multiple agency and client individuals who may not all fit around one monitor.
Solution: Turn any iPad or even iPhone into a viewing station by using the Capture Pilot app! Download Here »
Production Kit: Mega Phone = Mega Fun!
How do you get through 32+ shots a day with screaming NFL fans who are all supposed to be doing something distinctly different?
Wield a megaphone and feel the power! Megaphone = Mega Fun!
I find a megaphone to be immensely useful on shoots with a large number of talent. Find a similar one (by clicking) HERE.
Production Kit: Sherpa! Luggage!
When you are traveling non-stop for work, there are a few things that really help - excellent luggage and a production-friendly hotel.
I'm in love with my luggage. Yes, it all matches and I might be biased because it's a German company, but Rimowa is truly the best! The Rimowa Salsa Air luggage might be a hefty investment, but it has held up for years and will continue to do so. It is exceptionally light-weight yet very sturdy with a protective hard shell that has a bit of give to it, and the four wheels make it super easy to handle. I'm often juggling a few of these at once in various sizes. The set also looks pretty chic and it wears well. Yes, Rimowa, I am available for your next photo shoot!
The Hotel Adlon is my go-to spot in Berlin. It is traditional, rather than a hip boutique hotel, but the service is impeccable (see my top hat-wearing bellman/sherpa below) and the location is historic (right near the Brandenburg Gate which once divided East & West Germany). Need a production rate? Let me know!
